January 2026
During the 2025/26 drought the county trucked water to 266 sites while repairing, drilling and equipping emergency boreholes. In January 2026 the Governor reported 39 boreholes drilled, 24 of them equipped and working and 15 still being equipped by the county and its partners.
June 2025
By June 2025 the county reported deploying 86 water bowsers, rehabilitating 30 earth pans, extending 350 km of pipelines and drilling strategic boreholes.
